[Note from David Morris – Dustyn (copied on this) came over for his lesson yesterday with the loaner viol (seems very much like the first one you gave him: unmarked, probably German, 1960s or ’70s).¬† I did notice a lot of “braying” while trying it out. ¬†Though it makes a nice, big sound, I’m certain that the seams are open in quite a few places. ¬†It seems like it might be a quick fix for someone like Colin, whenever Pacifica decides to take care of it. ¬†It’s got the most rattly-edges of any viol I’ve ever seen. ¬†Still, it’s a great starter instrument.]
NOTE:  C string replaced Nov. 2014 from our inventory.
NOTE:  This viol has been overhauled by Colin Shipman 7/31/15.  The seams, back braces, and neck have been glued.  It has a new sound post and new frets.  All strings were replaced. (STORAGE)
